Project Log
Making It Rain in Miniature
This is an early draft. The full write-up and photos are still on Pearl's workbench — check back soon.
Writing this post makes me feel like Bonnie Parker (of Bonnie & Clyde). The "make it rain $" vibe — tiny bills fanned across a counter, a stack of currency in the till, the satisfying mess of it all.
Scale is the invisible gravity here. When the money is even slightly oversized or all-too-perfect, it stops reading as currency and starts reading as a prop.
I ordered two different packs of money from Amazon, and I am planning to keep them both... though one is certainly not for the dollhouse.
Maybe Barbie or Skipper would like to play, or maybe I'll make a "money manifestation" craft like a picture frame with some mantras in it hehe.
On the other hand, this set was perfectly in-scale at 1:12, as promised: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FMFN5QLZ?th=1&linkCode=ll2&tag=pearl073-20&linkId=c52dffc0330f201cf87083613ba12f32&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
It did also come with playing cards, boxes for the playing cards, a whiskey bottle, and two whiskey glasses.
More on the design process — and where to grab the printable versions — soon.
